I love the art of healing on all levels, and have an innate curiosity about the workings of the human body and consciousness. In my coaching and teaching practice, I support clients by cultivating self-awareness, and helping them activate their innate strengths and resources.
In addition to being trained as a coach and yoga therapist, I have spent decades studying and mentoring with many wonderful teachers of various therapeutic traditions from yoga therapy, qi gong, energy healing, bodywork, functional medicine health coaching, somatics, shamanic medicine training, self-inquiry, and more.
I believe we all have answers within. My mission as a coach is to listen with presence, and help my clients create the conditions for self-healing and transformation.
Health coaching is essentially about self-discovery and awareness, helping clients connect with their personal strengths and resources to create sustainable change in support of greater health and wellness.
As health coaches, we help clients bring awareness to their thoughts, discover what’s blocking them, see their goals clearly, and create a personal plan for achieving those goals. A well trained coach does this with presence, deep listening and an evidence-based skill set in coaching for behavioral change, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, narrative coaching, and health and wellness education. In my coaching practice I also use mindfulness based awareness techniques for transformational change.
Health is a dynamic state, that involves body, mind, spirit and connection.
Coaches offer what doctors can’t - time and commitment to see their clients through to achieving the changes they want to make.
Yoga therapy is that facet of the ancient science of Yoga that focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person: physical, psychological, and spiritual. Yoga therapy focuses on the path of Yoga as a healing journey that brings balance to the body and mind through an experiential understanding of the primary intention of Yoga: awakening of Spirit, our essential nature. Joseph LePage
This definition comes from the teacher I originally trained with, and continues to be a foundational understanding for the work I do today. For therapeutic purposes, I blend the classical practices and philosophies of yoga with other healing traditions such as chi gong, somatics, breathwork, self-inquiry, and mindfulness meditation depending on the specific needs of my client or group. For me, Yoga Therapy is about helping a client find what works for them, connects them with their whole and brings them joy as well.
